St. Michael's Clergy and Pastoral Care

Father Smith Welcomes You!

Father Smith, 3/13/05

The Reverend
John R. Smith,
B.A., S.T.B.
Priest and Rector

Dear Friends:

Welcome to St. Michael's Website! The vision that God gave me to bring to this parish sure fits with goal of these web pages. The vision is Enter here. . . Go there . . . To the Glory of God! Translated it means: Do everything toward welcoming as many people as possible to the experience of St. Michael's so that they might be sent out to serve and witness in their work and ministry in the world, remembering that everything is to glorify God, the Source of our life energy and love in Jesus Christ. I hope you can get a good idea of what we are about on this site and find more and more possibilities for your ministry among us and in the world.

Love in Christ,

John R. Smith
Priest and Rector

Pastoral and Spiritual Care

St Michael

  • If you have a child to be baptized ...
  • If you know an adult or older child seeking baptism in Christ ...
  • If you would like to celebrate your marriage in this church ...
  • If you know someone who is sick and would like a visit or receive Holy Communion ...
  • If you would like to talk to a priest about a concern or unburden your conscience ...

We are here for you.

See Fr. Smith or call the parish office at 886‑7292.

The clergy are available for spiritual counsel, pastoral care and visits to home or hospital.  Members of the parish are urged to make an appointment at any time through the parish office,  886-7292, if you wish to speak with one of the clergy, or if you or someone you know is ill or in the hospital.

Baptism and Marriage are important individual sacraments involving acts of personal commitment.  They must be arranged directly with the clergy at least one month in advance of the proposed date of the event (in the case of remarriage following a divorce, three months is required). This is to insure enough time for the required instruction and counseling.  In case of marriage, at least one party should be (or become) an active member of the Parish.  Baptisms are normally performed quarterly: in early January, at Easter, at Pentecost, and at All Saints'.  Please call the parish office if you have any questions or to make an appointment with a priest for either of these services.
